Nine indicators in favor of dental restoration with E Max veneers

From this article you will learn:
  • what is Emax – reviews, before and after photos,
  • its comparison with zirconium dioxide,
  • Emax crowns and veneers – price 2022.

Metal-free ceramics E-max is the best option for dental prosthetics with crowns, veneers, and bridges up to 3 units in length. This material provides excellent aesthetics, and if you want artificial dental crowns or veneers to blend in as closely as possible with adjacent teeth in color and translucency, Emax material is a good choice. It is produced for dentistry (Liechtenstein).

Emax ceramics consists of 70% lithium disilicate crystals, which allows this material to be classified as glass ceramics. Thanks to the optical parameters of the glass matrix, this material has increased light transmittance, which makes its optical properties as similar as possible to the enamel of real teeth. Therefore, reviews of E-max ceramic crowns or veneers made from this material are good even among the most aesthetically demanding patients.

Appearance and transparency of E-max –

In this article we will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of E-max ceramics, which make its use undesirable in a number of clinical situations. We will also compare E-max veneers and ceramic crowns with other types of metal-free ceramics (for example, zirconium dioxide or feldspathic ceramics) so that you can understand which denture ceramics will be best in your case.

E-MAX veneers – aesthetics and quality from a German manufacturer

German E-MAX veneers have been on the market for more than two decades, and today they have become a very worthy alternative to any other materials, in particular classic ceramics. The manufacturer continues to work on the quality of the material, so it is preferred by an increasing number of patients.

E.max veneers are rightly called an analogue of lumineers - the favorite “tool” of stars for creating a Hollywood smile. The peculiarity lies in the thickness of these structures; it is indeed almost comparable to lumineers - 0.3-0.6 mm, and many dentists have already appreciated the reliability and effectiveness of the use of such microprostheses.

Important! Unlike conventional ceramics, they are created from a pressed material, which, by minimizing pores, becomes denser and harder. At the same time, aesthetics are maintained at a very high level.

Reviews

Many dental patients were able to evaluate the quality of dental restoration using microprostheses. Reviews of Emax veneers are usually positive.

1.5 years ago I took care of my teeth. After installing numerous fillings, half of my teeth were left with gray spots, and I had to think about the aesthetics of my smile. The doctor suggested veneers e max and I agreed. The installation process itself is almost painless, but the disadvantages are global - the price and violation of the integrity of your own teeth, you need to be mentally prepared for them. The “before and after” result is colossal, from an aesthetic point of view, 100 points.

Svetlana, Novosibirsk

The German orthopedic veneers Imax were recommended to me by my doctor. The situation with my front teeth was worse than ever; choosing between a bridge and veneers, I chose the latter. I am very pleased with the result. Expensive, but fast and almost painless, no addiction! I recommend it to anyone who is desperate to find a beautiful smile.

Julia, Voronezh

Indications for installation

E-MAX ceramic veneers are installed for the following indications:

  • change in the shade of the enamel associated with taking medications, frequent consumption of food and drinks, staining not only the outer shell, but also hard tissues,
  • darkening of previously installed fillings,
  • cracks, chipped enamel,
  • slight crowding of teeth or incisors rotated around their axis,
  • enamel erosion, thinning,
  • difference in tooth size,
  • diastemas and tremata - gaps between teeth,
  • impossibility or ineffectiveness of using other whitening methods.

“For a long time I suffered from dark spots on the enamel of my upper front teeth - no preventative procedures helped, nor did limiting the use of dyes. The aesthetics left much to be desired, so I decided to install veneers, which were made of pressed ceramics. I was satisfied - my smile was perfect.”

Irina, 34 Review from otzovik.com

When is it recommended to install veneers?

If your teeth have gaps or an unattractive shape, you can install veneers. They will close wide gaps and make your smile look very attractive. It is also necessary to install Emax veneers in the following cases:

· large filling in cervical teeth;

· unsightly dark spots on the enamel;

· presence of microcracks and chips;

· unaesthetic shape of teeth;

· fillings that have changed color;

· uneven teeth.

Emax veneers are of high quality and durability. They can be used for a very long time and still remain aesthetically attractive. Onlays resemble natural teeth and are no different from them. Ceramic veneers are a new generation of designs. They are very comfortable to wear and do not cause any discomfort. When installing veneers, you can choose the desired shade of your teeth.

Ceramic veneers are aesthetic overlays for teeth in the desired shade. With their help, you can correct an aesthetically attractive smile .

Orthopedic restoration using veneers looks natural and attractive. It allows you to quickly eliminate various defects of teeth and tooth enamel and always look great. The service life of structures is more than 10 years.

Contraindications for veneers

In some cases, veneers cannot be installed, and this applies not only to E-MAX, but to all similar restoration products. Such situations include the following diseases or conditions:

  • deep damage to incisors by caries,
  • pathological abrasion of enamel and bruxism,
  • some bite defects,
  • periodontal disease,
  • bad habits (gnawing objects - pens, etc.),
  • large fillings, including on the lingual side of the teeth,
  • persistent violation of hygiene rules,
  • high probability of injury (playing certain sports, etc.).

There are also relative contraindications - superficial caries, inflammatory diseases of periodontal tissue. In this case, the doctor will prescribe preliminary treatment, after which you can return to the issue of restoration.

Life time

The service life of ceramic linings with proper care is up to 10 years. But, products may fail earlier in the following cases:

  • If the cement under the structure fails. Then the plate may fall out. The veneer must be taken to a dentist, who will professionally reattach it.
  • If a hard object hits the elements of the dentition while eating, biting nuts, or uncorking bottles with your teeth, the lining may crack.

Advantages of E-MAX over other products

The advantages of E-MAX veneers lie in their strength: the structures are made from a material that is a type of lithium silicate glass ceramic. The pressing method is used for manufacturing - the result is the absence of micropores in the material, an impeccably smooth surface, which is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also hygienic. Pathogenic bacteria do not have the opportunity to collect in the microscopic surfaces of artificial structures, which facilitates oral care and the prevention of many dental diseases.

Veneers are thin – their thickness is comparable to a contact lens. This eliminates the need to remove a significant amount of your own tissue during turning. In some cases, they are fixed without removing part of the enamel at all. The structures are securely fixed using a special glue containing components to combat caries.

A wide range of shades and the light transmission characteristic of natural enamel allows you to choose veneers for almost any patient, fully taking into account the characteristics of his own teeth - they will look natural. 3D computer modeling technologies help ensure the accuracy of installation of structures - this makes it possible to eliminate any errors.

The strength of IPS E-MAX ensures long service life; the plates do not lose their original shade even after 10 years. The material is hypoallergenic, so it can be used even in those patients who suffer from allergic reactions. It does not release toxic substances, does not oxidize and does not react with saliva. The manufacturing technology eliminates the possibility of damage to the gums around the structure.

Another advantage is the price - the plate will cost about 30 thousand rubles, which is inexpensive compared to Lumineers.

As for the disadvantages, they relate not so much to E-MAX, but to this type of dentures in general: if there is a desire to stop wearing plates, there will be a need to choose another method of restoring the shape and aesthetics of teeth, for example, installing crowns. This applies to cases where it is necessary to grind your own teeth before installing veneers.

Structure care

Once veneers are installed, there are no dietary restrictions to maintain the original appearance of the veneers. You can chew nuts and apples, but you should still be careful. You should also avoid seeds and definitely not use your teeth to open the caps. Then the veneers will last a very long time and will always delight you with their attractive appearance.

Once every six months when wearing Emax veneers, it is important to perform hygienic teeth cleaning. A veneer that you don’t like or that is cracked can be replaced with another overlay. In general, teeth should be brushed regularly with hygienic toothpaste and periodic visits to the dentist.

If you need veneers installed, in our clinic the price for ceramic veneer Emax is minimal and affordable to everyone. We are always glad to see you among our patients!

Manufacturing technology

The technology for making individual plates includes a list of important steps: modeling the plate from wax, placing the ceramic blank in the oven, where, through the pressing process, it becomes an overlay corresponding to the characteristics of the wax plates. Afterwards, the technician processes the products manually - roughens the inner surface to ensure reliable fixation.

The plates are then coated with glaze for shine and smoothness.

Number of visits to the clinic

  1. The first visit is examination, diagnosis, photography, taking impressions to create diagnostic wax-up models.
  2. The second visit (after 3 days) - assessment and approval of the shape of the veneers using wax-up, transfer of models of future structures to mock-up teeth.
  3. The third visit (after 7 days) - preparation of the surface of the teeth for fixation of veneers, installation of temporary protective structures.
  4. The fourth visit (after 3 weeks) - removal of temporary onlays, fixation of permanent ones, grinding and polishing their surface.

Installation steps

Preparation for prosthetics with veneers involves examination of the oral cavity and sanitation, if necessary (removal of carious formations and renewal of fillings). Professional cleaning is also carried out.

Restoration with E-MAX veneers is carried out in several stages:

  1. preparation: treatment of the surface of the teeth, grinding if necessary,

Note! Turning may not be necessary at all - as a rule, this is true for structures with a thickness of no more than 0.3 mm. However, if there is an indication for this, a layer of enamel no more than 0.5-0.7 mm thick is removed. Other veneers may require the removal of up to 1mm of tissue.

  2. making an impression and sending it to a dental laboratory,
  3. creation of temporary onlays to ensure the aesthetics of a smile while permanent plaques are being made,
  4. making veneers in the laboratory,
  5. fixation of veneers with dental glue.

If the veneer fits perfectly, the dentist performs a bite check - assesses the nature of the contact with the adjacent and corresponding teeth located on the other jaw. If necessary, adjustments are made. After fixation, the specialist removes excess adhesive material.

Why are veneers popular?

Veneers are installed on the upper and lower frontal teeth. These are thin petal overlays comparable to lenses. They are mounted on the front of the tooth. Their thickness is small - up to 0.5 mm.

Therefore, the elements are imperceptible when worn. This ensures concealment of defects and creates a visual effect of naturalness of all teeth.

Review of clinics where you can get E.Max veneers

As noted earlier, processing the material requires special equipment that is installed in the laboratory. Therefore, not all clinics offer such a solution for restoring the smile area. We present a list of Moscow dentists where you are guaranteed to be able to receive such a service.

NameAddressesPrice
1Dentistry Smile-at-Once. Has its own dental laboratory a network of dentistry, which has two addresses: st. Stanislavskogo, 11 (metro Taganskaya) and Dmitrovskoye highway, 5/1 (metro Dmitrovskaya) 30,000 rubles
2Clinic "Aesthetic Dent"st. Fadeeva (metro Novoslabodskaya) 36,500 rubles
3Dentistry "SLklinik"dental network: st. Milashenkova, 22 (metro Timiryazevskaya), st. Klyazmenskaya, 11 (metro station Rechnoy Vokzal), st. Seleznevskaya, 34/3 (metro station Dostoevskaya), Altufevskoye sh., 85 (metro station Altufyevo) 27,990 rubles
4Dentistry "All Yours"network of dentists (more than 20 branches in Moscow)21,200 rubles

Important! When choosing a clinic, check whether pressed ceramic veneers are actually offered to you - certificates and licenses are needed. Dentistry often announces a promotion, but behaves in bad faith and offers the patient a cheaper alternative. This is mainly true if you see a price for this service that is too low.

How to choose the color of veneers

Choosing the right shade for the overlays is perhaps the most important part of the process. You can make veneers ideal in shape, carefully convey the details, but without the right color you will not get a satisfactory result.

Teeth onlays are made from materials that have properties as close as possible to natural enamel. This means that they have (to a greater or lesser extent) the ability to transmit light - to shine through. Therefore, the color of the dentin (the layer under the enamel) will be reflected in the final color of the plate. The shade of the cement on which the veneer is fixed will also make its contribution.

The colors of ceramic veneers are selected using the Vita scale

. In total, it contains 20 colors: 16 of them are natural, and 4 are ultra-white (Bleach). Bleach is an unnatural color; there are no natural teeth of this color.

There are 4 blocks in the scale, each with its own shade:

  1. Block A
    includes red-brown shades
  2. Block B
    - yellow-red
  3. Block C
    - grayish
  4. Block D
    - gray-red

Decoding shades shouldn't be scary. In fact, they all look like natural enamel, and the designations are only important for specialists.

The main characteristic of color is brightness. Therefore, each block presents 4 degrees of brightness of each shade. From the brightest, it is indicated by the number 1, to the dimmer, under the number 4. The color of the veneer is a1

means that it should be the brightest color in the reddish-brown range. There are no shades in the bleach color of veneer 1 or 2, only white. There is a certain amount of yellow in Bleach 3 and 4, but the entire palette immediately speaks of the artificial origin of the color.

Emax veneer color

Emax glass ceramics differ in their properties. Therefore, 3 parameters are used to designate its shades. Color scale, Vita 3D Master, includes:

  1. Brightness
    _ Measured on a scale from 1 to 5
  2. Tone
    . R – reddish, L – yellowish and M – intermediate
  3. Saturation
    . Use numbers from 1 to 3.

Thus, the color code consists of 3 symbols, 2 numbers and one letter.

Classic B1 for Emax is designated as 1M1.

The color palette in 3D Master is wider. It includes 26 natural shades and 3 ultra-white (Bleach).

Comparison with other types - which are better

If we talk about ceramic veneers, in addition to lithium disilicate glass ceramics, “oxide” types of ceramics are used for the production of dental onlays - zirconium dioxide and aluminum oxide.

Zirconium dioxide

Zirconium structures are durable and resistant to severe chewing loads. In terms of aesthetics, they are inferior to ceramic ones. This is due to the properties of the material. However, now there are expensive translucent zirconium dioxide blocks on sale (Katana® UTML, STML - Japan, Prettau® Anterior), which allow you to create dental onlays that are as close in appearance as possible to E-max.

Most clinics use low-quality “soft” zirconium dioxide to save money. Compared to expensive analogues, it is unnaturally white and opaque. For us, the main task in our work is the perfect result, so we use only expensive materials.

Aluminium oxide

Aluminum oxide is a white mineral, a type of ceramic. It is inferior in strength to zirconium dioxide. It is used for prosthetics of the frontal part of the jaw, where there is no serious chewing load, but there are increased demands on aesthetics. In terms of transparency, it is located between zirconium dioxide and solid pressed ceramics.

We produce aluminum oxide veneers using PROCERA technology. Developed by Nobel Biocare, the author and trendsetter in the field of dental implantology, a leader in the production of metal-free structures that are superior in aesthetic and quality characteristics to any other options.

Price - cost per 1 tooth

Installation of one turnkey veneer from E-max milled ceramics in our Center costs 42,000 rubles. The turnkey price includes services and materials for manufacturing and installation. The cost may vary slightly depending on the dollar exchange rate. The structures are manufactured in our own dental laboratory using ZirkonZahn robotic technologies.

The price of the original E-max veneer cannot be lower than 35,000-40,000 rubles. The lower cost indicates the use of a cheap Chinese analogue of lithium disilicate. Installing such structures is hazardous to health.

Impressions are paid separately - 3,500 rubles. The cost is the same for the digital method of taking impressions (taken using an interoral camera) and the manual method (using impression material).

An additional fee is charged in non-standard situations, when it is necessary to agree on and try on a design before the start of treatment (if the patient is worried and has doubts). This includes the following procedures:

  1. Modeling and manual production of preliminary individual design of future overlays (WAX-UP) - 1,600 rubles per unit.
  2. Temporary veneer to correct the bite or overcome doubts about the future design - 6,000 rubles per unit. MOCK-UP made of acrylic-free plastic can be used to be worn as temporary structures - the price is the same. MOCK-UP is produced free of charge only for fitting on teeth in order to evaluate the design as part of the restoration.

Our own production of veneers is our great advantage!

Our Center has its own dental laboratory, which allows us to control every stage of veneer production and improve the quality of finished structures. Direct purchases of E-max lithium disilicate blocks from the manufacturer guarantees the production of high-quality veneers and eliminates Chinese counterfeits, which are found in Moscow dentists.
